Oppo F3 Plus was launched in India via an event held at Delhi. The event grabbed quite a few eyeballs and had bloggers and Youtubers flowing in from across India. Is the device worth all the hype? Let’s find out.

Network & Connectivity

Oppo F3 Plus is a phone which supports 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity. It’s a dual nano SIM device with the secondary slot as a hybrid slot. Other wireless connectivity features are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A-GPS, micro USB 2.0. However, there is no NFC or FM Radio.

Design

Oppo F3 Plus comes with a massive 6 inch screen with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The pixel density of the device is ~367 PPI which is fairly low for such a gigantic device. The screen is safeguarded with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with ColorOS 3.0

The back panel of the device looks very much like that of an iPhone with only the rear camera and LED Flash on the top left corner. The front panel has the Home Button cum fingerprint sensor, capacitive touch buttons (lower side) and the earpiece, sensor and front camera (upper side).

The lower edge of the Oppo F3 Plus has LED lights, microUSB port, speaker, 3.5mm jack for connecting headsets and primary mic with active voice cancellations with dedicated mic. The right edge has the Power Button and SIM tray while the left edge has Volume rockers.

The physical dimensions of Oppo F3 Plus is 163.6 x 80.8 x 7.4 mm and weighs 185 grams. The phone is available in 2 colors – Gold and Black.

Software

Under the hood of Oppo F3 Plus is Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro Snapdragon 653 processor with 8 cores – 4 cores running at 1.95 GHz and other 4 running at 1.44 GHz. It also has Adreno 510 GPU and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the box. It has 4 GB RAM.

Camera

Oppo F3 Plus is known as the selfie expert. This means that there is something special about the front camera. The front camera is a very powerful dual camera with 16 MP + 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture and 1/3″ sensor size. It also has 5P Lens CMOS, wide angle lens, time-lapse, GIF and filters.

The rear camera is a 16 MP shooter with dual LED Flash (as mentioned earlier). It has auto focus, f/1.7 aperture, AMOS Sensor Size, dual supporting PDAF, slow motion, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. Video recording is done at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.

Memory

Although there is an external hybrid slot of expandable up to 256 GB, but there is sufficient internal storage of 64 GB. There are very high chance that you can use 2 SIM cards without thinking about compromising on space.

Battery 

Oppo F3 Plus comes with a massive non-removable battery of capacity 4,000 mAh. It also has VOOC Flash Charge for fast charging the battery.

Oppo F3 Plus (Gold, 64 GB)

Some event attendee could also grab a posh black variant of Oppo F3 Plus. However, it’s not listed here in Flipkart. Maybe they will launch it as an exclusive limited edition phone later or they have some plans or it’s simply not for the Indian market. Flipkart also says pre-ordering would get you a limited Exclusive Gift pack. They might be delivering the black variant to you.

It’s all a guess work. This will come into light when the phone is finally launched. I think there are some devices which could give this phone a competition?
