Moto series is one of those path breaking smartphones which let smartphone reach common man. It all started with Motorola Moto E. Moto G5 Plus is the latest one from Motorola. Moto G5 Plus is a dual SIM device where both the devices support GSM/CDMA/HSPA/EVDO/LTE. Other wireless connectivity options of Moto G5 Plus features are Wi Fi, Wi Fi Direct, Bluetooth, A-GPS, NFC (market dependent), FM Radio and microUSB 2.0. NFC features is available for the Indian customers.
G5 Plus comes with a 5.2 inch screen that has a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 424 PPI. The screen is IPS LCD touchscreen which is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device comes in two variants – Lunar Grey and Fine Gold.
The physical dimensions of the device is 150.2 x 74 x 7.7 mm and weighs 155 grams only. The phone has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button on the front lower side of the device. The loud speaker, USB port and primary mic is along the lower edge and 3.5mm jack is on the upper edge. There is also a secondary mic on the upper left corner of the back panel.
Moto G5 Plus comes wrapped in a high grade aluminium, no wonder it is so light weighted. The device is also claimed to have waterproof coating to let it withstand some minor splashes.
Moto G5 Plus comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The chipset of the device is Snapdragon 625 which is an octa core processor running at 2.0 GHz. The GPU of the device is Adreno 506 and has 4 GB RAM.
It has a 12 MP camera on the rear side and a 5 MP camera on the front side. The rear camera and LED Flash are placed in a small circular border on the rear side of the device. The rear camera comes with f/1.7 aperture. dual LED flash, geo tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto HDR and video recording at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps in different countries.
The front camera is a 5 MP shooter. It has a wide angle lens to capture good group pictures. There are some pre-installed modes (Best Shot, Professional Mode, Beautification mode) to give your photos a professional touch.
The phone comes with 2 variants of memory and RAM. The lower priced model is 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The higher priced variant is 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. There is a separate slot for microSD card which supports storage up to 256 GB.
Moto G5 Plus is a phone with 3,000 mAh non removable battery. The battery supports fast charging and comes with turbo charger in the box.
