It is exactly one year that Coolpad has set its foot in India. A year ago, it had launched the Coolpad Note 3. The device was the cheapest device to have a fingerprint scanner in it. It still continues to be a highly desirable device even now. The device has only one drawback, battery. However, battery remained to be ‘less’ in the handsets that were launched later.
However, Coolpad Note 5 has been launched with quite a massive battery. It comes with 4010 mAh battery with Quick Charge and will definitely last a day, probably even more. The manufacturers have claimed a standby of 350 hours and 14 hours of talk time. The phone weighs 173 grams. In the camera end, the device has 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. Both the camera’s have LED Flash. Apart from fingerprint sensor, the other sensors in the device are proximity, accelerometer and light sensor.
Coolpad Note 5 come in a metal unibody design and is dual SIM device (LTE and VoLTE support enabled). It also has a 2.5 D curved glass. It features a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood of the device lies Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 octa core processor and GPU of Adreno 405. For multitasking, it has 4 GB RAM and an internal storage of 32 GB with an optional 64 GB external storage. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Cool UI 8.0 skin.
The device is priced at Rs. 10,999 (Royal Gold and Space Grey) and will be available at Amazon India from 18th October in an open sale. 95 % of the Coolpad devices are Made in India, no wonder they are making the open sale happen! Coolpad wished to sell 4 million of these devices and hopefully they might achieve it as well. However, the interesting thing would be seeing Coolpad in an epic battle with Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo’s Vibe K5 Note. I’m hoping the sale of these devices would go low. Nothing can be said of now! Let’s wait for 18th October.
